July 8 Green Drinks Event!

Washington is moving towards a greener future and as each of us are becoming increasingly concerned about the impact our lifestyles have on the environment and many are seeking alternatives. This month, thanks to Michael Kiefer, a local green activist and realtor, we are meeting at one of DC's newest Green Buildings, Lofts 11. Lofts 11 boasts an array of sustainable features such as a green roof, recycled countertops, tinted low e-glass, energy star package, passive solar design, high efficiency furnace, dual flush toilets, steps to 3 Metro stops and more.

Join us for this opportunity to engage Gail Montplaisir, principal, Taurus Development Group in an open dialogue about green buildings and what lies ahead in their next green building initiative. In addition Neil Takemoto of CoolTown Beta Communities & Michael Kiefer will be discussing a new initiative in Washington DC to bring affordably-built "green residences" to the masses in an approach that is entirely unique.

Where:
1125 11th St NW (2 blocks from the Convention Center)

Cost:
$5 covers beer, wine and light snacks.
We need volunteer greeters for the front desk! We would be so appreciative if you could help! Of course, your $5 cover would be waived! Please email .

About Green Drinks

Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up for a beer at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.

We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network.

These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.
